تداولت بعض المواقع الإلكترونية وصفحات التواصل الاجتماعي منشوراً يتضمن تعليمات حكومية بوقف بيع المشغولات الذهبية بالأسواق بدعوى اضطراب أسعارها، وقد قام المركز الإعلامي لمجلس الوزراء بالتواصل مع وزارة التموين والتجارة الداخلية، والتي نفت تلك الأنباء، مؤكدةً أنه لا صحة لوقف بيع المشغولات الذهبية بالأسواق بدعوى اضطراب أسعارها، وأن المنشور المتداول وهمي وغير صادر عن أي جهة حكومية، مُشددةً على أن حركة البيع والشراء مستمرة بشكل طبيعي بكافة محال الذهب على مستوى الجمهورية، دون وقف، مُشيرةً إلى أن عملية التسعير تخضع  لآليات العرض والطلب ووفقاً لأسعار الأوقية في البورصات العالمية، مُحذرةً المواطنين من الانسياق وراء مثل تلك الشائعات التي تستهدف الإضرار بالاقتصاد المصري، وسيتم اتخاذ كافة الإجراءات القانونية حيال مروجي تلك المنشورات المزيفة.

 Some websites and social media pages circulated a publication containing government instructions to stop selling gold jewelry in the markets, claiming that their prices would be turbulent. And that the circulated publication is fake and not issued by any government agency, stressing that the movement of buying and selling continues naturally in all gold shops at the level of the Republic, without stopping, noting that the pricing process is subject to the mechanisms of supply and demand and according to the ounce prices in global stock exchanges, warning citizens of Drifting behind such rumors that aim to harm the Egyptian economy, and all legal measures will be taken against the promoters of these fake publications.
